With the world theatrical premiere of The Responders: Breaking the Silence at the Turning the Tide conference less than three weeks away, IC911 Executive Director Ted Walter joined filmmakers John Kirby and Libby Handros for the inaugural episode of The Responders Podcast.
Their wide-ranging conversation explores how the groundbreaking documentary came together and honors the remarkable courage of the first responders who agreed to tell their stories on camera — in some cases after remaining silent for nearly 20 years.
The filmmakers and Walter also discuss what makes The Responders unique: For the first time, multiple 9/11 first responders are brought together in one film to reconstruct what really happened at the World Trade Center through their eyewitness testimony.
