IC911 is pleased to announce that the Debated Topics Forum has published a new paper by David Chandler and Wayne Coste. It is a response to a May 2024 paper by Xander Arena, which was a rebuttal to Chandler and Coste’s original paper, published in October 2023.
The subject matter of this ongoing discussion is whether the damage to the Pentagon wall and nearby objects is consistent with having been struck by a large plane.
We encourage you to read all three papers and hope you will find the discussion informative.
Per the forum’s guidelines, Arena will now have the opportunity to respond to Chandler and Coste.
The forum also welcomes submissions from other authors on the same subject, though they will not be a part of the ongoing thread between Chandler/Coste and Arena.
For example, in June, the forum published a new, separate paper by Mehmet Inan on the damage done to the Pentagon wall and nearby objects. In it, he argued that the damage is consistent with a Boeing 737 rather than a Boeing 757. (American Airlines Flight 77, the plane alleged to have struck the Pentagon, was a Boeing 757.) The deadline to respond to Inan’s paper is October 28, 2024.
The Debated Topics Forum is intended to be a venue for constructive, evidence-based discussions about long-debated questions in the 9/11 research community. Therefore, we enthusiastically welcome submissions on topics that are considered contentious or that have widely divergent viewpoints.
We are grateful to the authors for their participation and to readers everywhere for their interest.
